One pair, banded
The socks, folded cuff-over-toe and held in a printed paper band with the colourway and the size written on it by hand.
Twelve stripes, none of them apologising. Knitted in combed Catalan cotton with a nylon-wrapped heel and toe, a flat toe seam you cannot feel through a trainer, and a rib cuff that still grips after forty washes.
Posted for €3.90, free over €45. Ordered before 14:00 on a weekday, it leaves the same afternoon.
Four things, no plastic, nothing you have to throw away except the envelope itself — and that one is card.
The socks, folded cuff-over-toe and held in a printed paper band with the colourway and the size written on it by hand.
Two metres of the exact yarn on a stiff card, with a blunt needle slotted into it. Enough thread for three heels.
Thirty degrees, inside out, no dryer — printed on the back of the band so it does not become another piece of paper.
Already paid for, already addressed. If the pair is wrong, it goes back in the same envelope with no message to us first.
72% combed Catalan cotton, 24% polyamide at heel and toe, 4% elastane in the cuff. Dyed in Olot in lots of thirty kilos. Thirty degrees, inside out, line dry — a tumble dryer takes the spring out of the cuff in about six cycles and nothing brings it back.
The stripe is knitted, not printed, so it does not fade off the surface. The heel is the part that goes first: expect three winters of regular wear before it thins, and send it back for a free darn rather than binning it. Measured flat, a 39—42 is 26cm toe to heel and stretches to 29cm.
A tube sock with no shaped heel, which is why one band covers four shoe sizes. If you wear a narrow 39 it will feel generous at the ankle for a day and then settle. Nobody has ever sent one back for being too tight.
Free over €45. €7.50 to the rest of the EU, five to eight days. Everything leaves the workshop the same afternoon if the order lands before 14:00 on a weekday.
Worn or unworn, no form, no explanation. The paid label is in the envelope. Money back on the original card within five working days of the parcel reaching us.
Post the pair back with a note and we will close the hole with the matching yarn and send it on. One darn per pair; after that we send you the thread and a diagram.
I bought the rainbow pair as a joke for my brother and then immediately bought three for myself. Two winters in and the heel has not thinned.
★★★★★Núria B. — Reus, bought the Rainbow colourway in a 39—42
When this batch is gone the Rainbow colourway goes back on the machine in April with a slightly different pink, because that is how dye lots work.
